This piece takes me straight back to my parents’ old house - a 1930s Edward Durrell Stone showstopper in a tiny town. It would’ve looked unbelievable on that gorgeous mantle, and it honestly breaks my heart that the house isn’t ours anymore. This piece also marks a breakthrough for me in resin: using it sculpturally, like glass, but without the fire -structured, architectural, and full of memory.
Glass, resin, and reclaimed crystal are reworked into vessels that sit somewhere between sculpture and function. They start as everyday glass or vintage crystal, then get layered with resin and paint until they feel more like gemstones than vases.
